Eastern Lake Ontario & Thousand Islands Excursion
With the Riveredge Resort in Alexandria Bay serving as our home base for
this event, we depart Thursday morning for a motor coach ride to
Ogdensburg where the owner will open the private Ogdensburg lighthouse to
our group for a complete tour. We will then take a short walk to Fort la
Presentation which celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2010. Back on the
motor coach, we then head for Tibbetts point for a tour of the lighthouse,
and the Seaway Trail Discovery Center. After a night in the Riveredge,
Friday morning we again board a bus to Kingston, Ontario to board the
ISLAND STAR to view the East Charity Shoal, Main Duck Island, and Galloo
Island lighthouses, before returning to Alexandria Bay. Saturday morning
we board and Uncle Sam Tours vessel, and view the Sunken Rock, Sister’s
Island, Crossover Island, Ogdensburg Harbor and Rock Island lighthouse,
and return to the hotel for a gala dinner featuring prizes and surprises.
Ticket prices for GLLKA members are $740 per person for double occupancy
and $890 per person for single occupancy. This price covers all expenses
from our departure from Alexandria Bay Thursday morning through check-out
from the Riveredge Resort on Sunday morning. Non GLLKA members will need
to add the cost of a membership in the Association to be eligible to
participate. Non-members will need to add $35 for a 1-year individual
membership or $50 for a 1-year family membership. Click
